The Watchtower has chided its members repeatedly for many years about not reading anything it deems unsuitable, especially when it is composed by former members.

Interestingly, the new May 2013 Awake magazine pages 10-11 (Available online at JW.org the official site of Jehovah’s Witnesses) has an article about a woman that studied and then converted from Judaism to Jehovah’s Witnesses. There are three key points in the article that actually encourage those with discernment to go against the Watchtower ban on books written by those with dissenting views. See if you can catch the clues by clicking below to read the article:

I just got done reading this and I can remember how I use to tell the people I gave study to ” Test Your Faith”, we tell people to investigate their doctrines so that they can realize that they have been lead to believe lies and we expose those to them during our studying and encourage the to question their beliefs, but that’s okay as long as you are exposing other religions but God Forbid you investigate and talk to others about the false doctrines we have been taught by our religious organization, you will be Punished and “Stoned”, since it is a man made organization it obviously would never want the people they have under control to fall out of line and if they do you will pay as so many of our brothers have by the extreme shunning and rejection by everyone they used to know, how hypocritical of the Watchtower. Thank God we are free and they no longe have any control over us.

She broke the rules to become a witness. I hope she breaks them again.

Well her mother told her not to read the New Testament right…that it would “pollute her mind” and this is so ironic bc that’s exactly what the WT tells it’s members- that dissenting views online or in a book will “pollute” them and poison their faith.

I also used to encourage others while out in the ministry to examine their religion….then I decided to examine mine as a JW. ..only to get shocked by the deception…..

i feel the same way I was shocked I was hurt I was sad I had so many emotions going on at once but now that I have found TTATT I am so happy, I realize the double standards we find in the organization and no group that allowed Gods spirit to guide them would ever let this happen, that is what assured me this was a man made organization, we discredit others because of their mistakes and false teachings but we are not allowed to freely investigate and then when we do see the facts we better not speak openly about them for fear of being DFed.

We are happy to have you

Ironic that the Society encourages others to investigate their religion but don’t dare tell witnesses to investigate their own. Reason? They will find that “the truth” is actually “the false”.
If it wasn’t for Don Camerons’ “Captives of a Concept” I would still be a zombie witness and still trudging to the meetings and living a fake life.
I hated being a witness. I hated getting dressed up for the meeting, going to someones house for just 1 hour for a book study, knocking on peoples doors, not being able to have freedom to do what I want when I want.
I’m in the process of talking with my nephew who is 19. My sister is pushing him to get baptized. I’ve basically told him he is an adult and he can make the decision for himself. But, one thing I did tell him is that if he ever screws up there is a chance he will get disfellowshipped. I assured him I will always be there for him no matter what. No person should ever be forced into baptism. I was, a totally regret it. It was the “in” thing to do. All of the young folks were getting baptized in my hall.

Whateverhappenedtome, with the same scrutiny we examine others we should be allowed to examine ourselves the organization has made many mistakes and teach wrong doctrines as well but the fact that we are told not to made me realize this is a man made religion and not gods one and only channel here on earth in a recent assembly the district overseer spoke of all the recent court cases all over the world we had won over the last year, i live a 15 minute drive to alameda county where the Candace Conti Case took place and wouldnt you know not a peep was said about that, how hypocritical we must be thankful we are awake now and see the truth for what it really is

If she is Jewish..I have a funny feeling this women won’t be a witnesses to long once she finds out in time how closely the GB is like the Jewish pharisaic in her religion…lol boy is she in for a rude surprise..lol she will see how the brothers treat the watchtowers and books like the Talmud or Middrash , for them you can not understand the Jewish bible without their Jewish commentaries the words of their sages. just like the society tells there members you can’t understand the bible without their writings…lol
