If Jehovah’s Witnesses are right then that would mean billions of people on this planet are going to die and only 6 million Jehovah’s Witnesses will be left alive. In reference to those who follow Jehovah’s Witnesses the book Revelation—Its Grand Climax At Hand! published by Jehovah’s Witnesses in chapter twelve paragraph 14 states, “They come to Jesus’ anointed brothers and “bow down” to them, spiritually speaking, because ‘they have heard that God is with them.’ ” Did you hear that? Have you heard that God is with “Jesus’ anointed brothers” who are Jehovah’s Witnesses? Could that possibly be the truth with all the false prophecies and wrong dates? Maybe God is testing us. Maybe we are expected to see through these mistakes and “bow down” “spiritually speaking” to these “anointed brothers” that direct Jehovah’s Witnesses.  When reading the Bible one could come to believe that we are to “bow down” to no man… Wouldn’t it be sad if billions of people on this planet lost their lives because they didn’t “bow down” to these men? Wow, what a mistake! Instead of bowing down to Christ Jesus and his father Jehovah we were supposed to “bow down” to the “anointed brothers” AKA Governing body. How sad and what a mistake the world is making!

In a Watchtower 1959 5/1 p. 269 Entitled: Attain Completeness in the New World Society Paragraph 7 says, “To hold to the headship of Christ, it is therefore necessary to obey the organization that he is personally directing. Doing what the organization says is to do what he says.”  Wow!  It is no wonder billions of people are missing this!  To bad their all going to die! It’s so simple! The problem here is those Jehovah’s Witnesses really are not taking this seriously! If they know this then shouldn’t they all be regular pioneering? Shouldn’t they all be in gilead school?  That’s what the problem is. These Jehovah’s Witnesses that “bow down” because they have “heard that God is with them” Just plain are not doing enough!  If Shadrack Meshack and Abednego were here with Daniel they would be bowing down as they run from door to door with the Watchtower! There would be no need to tell them to “bow down” twice! It’s all so simple. The wrong dates and changes are only a test. Jesus was only a test. We don’t need to pay attention to any of that stuff. All we need to do is pull our heads out and start bowing down to the “anointed brothers” AKA Governing body with our Watchtowers in hand! Why can’t the world see this?  It is so crystal clear. Hmmm maybe it’s not so clear… Maybe someone is trying to fool us…

Please read, “Luke 21:8, “He said: “Look out that YOU are not misled; for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The due time has approached.’ Do not go after them.”

Think about it!

I was going to join a Taekwondo class. Even thought the JW forbids it, but I didn’t care, because I wasn’t there for the violence, just for the exercise. My conscience did not bother me.
But when they told the code of conduct, to bow down in every class to the instructor and to the Korean flag (since it’s originated there) I never signed up. “I bow to no one, but God”

Watchtower 1959?, no need to go that far back. You’re going to have a field day with the September 15 2010 study.

As someone once said Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. Personally I just don’t see anymore that there is proof, certainly not extraordinary proof, that a good percentage of the bible’s prophecies are fulfilled in the group of the FDS.

I really don’t see why I was blinded to this for so long. Of course I was raised in the “truth” and taught that to question anything the watchtower said was proof of pride.

A few yrs. ago I remember the Society banned jeans for after the district conv. My teenage son and I got into quite a discussion about this. He couldn’t see the reason for this. I in reality couldn’t either, but I insisted that if that is what the Society says that is what we have to do, and I made him do it. This is just a small example of how I have let the rules of the organ. control my whole life. I am looking forward to the time when I won’t be under the jurisdiction of narrow minded men.

JWs are right about a lot of scriptural things. BUT… That said, 6-7 billion people dying at Armageddon? I see your point Brother Greybeard. I didn’t used to, but I do now. The Insight book volume 2 under “resurrection” says that perhaps as many as 20 billion have lived and died since Adam. It also speculates that the vast majority will be brought back too, and there would still be plenty of room on the earth for all of them. I wonder which of the three brothers that wrote the Aid/Insight books wrote that? Either way they make a good point. God is love. Mercy trumps justice every time. We all deserve to die for our sins but the gift God gives is everlasting life through Christ our Lord!

Excellent points brothers. During my recent search for truth, I have studied, to a greater or lesser degree, many reigions. I have come to the conclusion that there are several that are VERY close to the truth, BUT, for several reasons they all fall short in one or more “significant beliefs”.
They are (in no particular order), JW’s, BS’s, SDA’s, Christadelphians, UCG (United Church of God), Messianic Jews.

BTW, has any body checked the number of pages in the two volumes of the Insight books, & compared that to the Aid book?
There are several hundred more pages in the Aid book, & it is printed on “bible quality paper”…much thinner. As they say, never judge a book by it’s cover….or how thick it is. You could be deceived every time.

Just after hearing all this and reading all this I am in shock of how close I came so many times to give the JW religion a chance in my life, WOW. My struggle was “Should I become a JW?” My struggle is nothing compared to most of your struggles. Sites like this one is giving me a heart for JW’s and has really enlightened me on many things. Thank you all for comming together and sharing what you are going through. It also helps non JWs like me.

      Greetings Jackie,

We JW’s & exJW’s, who are/have gone through our struggle, go through some very black moments, when for myself I even briefly questioned “the existence of God”, based on my own & others experiences. However, my heartfelt love for our Creator, won out in the end, although it was a very miserable existence for a few months or so.
I must also say that by far, the majority of JW’s are very sincere people who have been led astray & locked into a system that teaches a certain amount of falsehood….please don’t think ill of these “people”, it is the systen that’s wrong, & very difficult for it’s adherents to easily see the errors being taught. This takes genuine & independant study of God’s word over time, to realize the error.

Can I encourage you to stay with us here, & enjoy the fellowship.
If you have any biblical questions, I’m sure that we can all help you to get a satisfactory answer through the pages of God’s Word.

May I also say, never give up in your search for truth, you are precious in THE Fathers Eyes.

  7. Jackie says:

Thank you Amos. I plan to visit this site often. My aunt who is a JW was the only light in my life growing up and she greatly impacted my beliefs. In my adult years it became even more of a struggle for me because I have two children to lead, and I didn’t want to mislead my own children. I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal savior over 5 yrs ago (best decision I ever made) and grew close to God and his word since then. I focused on relationship, faith and prayer, more so than religion and I experienced the love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness of God. By grace through faith I have made tremendous progress in obedience and my walk with God without it being forced on me by some governing body. Recently I was going through a few trials; my aunt came along with some bible teachings as she always does off and on, trying to win me over to the “truth;” and for the last few weeks I have been praying for God to guide me and lead me to the right decision when it comes to religion because I began to question whether or not my aunt was right and I was wrong perhaps.. My faith was weak, It became a battle and it was the perfect opportunity for someone to come along and distract me. I felt a deep desire to do some amateur research on the history of the JW organization over the last few weeks and I am so glad I did; I’ve learned a lot of the good and the bad. My strength truly comes from the joy of the Lord, so I am always seeking more and more truth about our Heavenly Father ~~Jehovah is AMAZIN && I want to keep getting to know him better and better through my personal Savior Jesus Christ & apart from legalistic controlling laws, regulations, and overly organized religion (Gods laws are already in my heart, I am his child and if I break his law by giving my kid a blood transfusion, I will answer to Him an not some group of men who claim to be God’s faithful and discreet slave to tell me I cant have have eternal life for not repenting to them for breaking a law, as if my salvation is in their hands and not God’s hands, common sense tells me that God is more fair and just and compassionate than them. Jesus became one of us, he performed the greatest act of love and suffered for us, his love is great for us, he knows what that lady was going through when she gave her baby a blood transfusion more than some elder who probably never even had any kids and who definitely never loved us so much that he would suffer and die for us.) Jesus wouldn’t have even had to die if he thought we could all obey every single law ever made all the time. Now obedience for me comes from growing in the personal relationship I have with God, without pressure of a big bag of laws siting on my shoulders thrown their by a group of religious bossy people before I could even start a relationship with God. I believe most all JWs are loving and caring people who love Jehovah. My aunt is the most caring and loving and devoted person I have ever known and it hurts so bad that I don’t completely have her approval because I wont submit to the organization she belongs to. It hurts more than anyone can know and I have learned that just because she was the only light in my life growing up doesn’t mean she was right about everything and thats hard to accept because I love her and look up to her so much.

    Hi Jackie,

Thank’s for your reply & explanation. As you expressed, difficulty comes when we are “bound by the laws of man”. This is why I believe that if we have “religion” we are doomed, but if we have the truth of scripture, we are on the road to life.
My view is also that all we need is the bible & some reference works that help us find all the verses in the bible on any subject we are studying….plus a good Hebrew/Greek to English dictionary, so we can understand exactly what the original writer is telling us. This last point has been largely lost through translational errors.

Our Heavenly Father & His dear Son, certainly understand what we humans are going through. One day soon, the full benefit of the ransom sacrifice will be accomplished for the “chosen saints”, with the rest of mankind receiving the benefits during the millennial age.

Each time you see & learn a new, or expanded understanding in the bible, it is because the Holy Spirit, is teaching you, & it is so thrilling to be taught this way. It will create a thirst in you to continue to learn more & more, it becomes a snow ball effect. I have never found anything to compare to this experience, & to feel the peace & love that can only come from the Father, it is a joy beyond words.

you then bring you back? it would not make sense remember that
narrow road leads to life and the other one leads to destruction
lots of people will die at Armageddon people need to be serious
about this and the point that the person that wrote the article
made about not bowing to no man well you have to realize that they

          Hi Amos,

Thanks for your comment. I still cannot find basis for stating that any are “kings” before the return of Christ. Paul had witness bore to him just before his death of a crown which was reserved for him from that point on, thus comforting him of his sealing to that future reward. This was only revealed at the end of his race, for until only then can anyone be rewarded. 2 Tim 4:8, 1 Cor. 9:24-27.

The word used in Rev.as “kings” in some versions is basileia, and is more correctly translated kingdom rather than kings. Even now we have all been made a kingdom or ‘nation’ with one as our King, Christ Jesus. As Christians we all now serve as priests, 1 peter 2. All believers, both jew and gentile, are at present a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation for the pupose of declaring abroad the excellencies of our King whom we represent. 2 Cor. 2:14 & 5:20

Rev 20:6 shows that only those who have part in the first resurrection will serve as both priests and kings (basileuó-reign,exercise dominion)with Christ for the thousand years. I dont believe the first resurrection has happend yet, and I dont think anyone would say we are in the thousand years so I would venture to say that non as of yet can be referred to as “Kings”. IMHO

Blessings, its always nice to hear from you. :)

It seems as though that being Kings and Priests happens after they have put on incorruption and immortality – for while we are still in the flesh we are subject to a sinful nature. Then after the first ressurection and the changing in a twinkling of an eye we will be swallowed up with perfect sinless life unable to make mistakes and errors in Judgement. Before this how is it even possible to be a King or Priest?

      Dear Brethren,
      Please read the first 10 verses of Ephesians CH 2, but meditate on V’s 4-7, as quoted below;

4 “But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” NASB

What do these verses tell us, those who are brothers in Christ, are we not NOW seated in heavenly places with Christ?

Please meditate on these verses & relate your conclusions.

      Andrew,

I agree with your summary about our being seated with Christ.

Concerning the Saints receiving crowns, I’ve just yesterday come across some important info, that this is possibly a misconception due to translational error, & has been accepted as fact without doing a proper study into the relevant GRK texts.

Could you please post the verses that you consider show that the Saints will in fact be “kings”?

Mind you I’m not saying that it’s not so, as I’ve only just come across this material, & will be doing a study on this myself as time permits in the future. I think that this will be an easy study, as there are only a few texts involved. If it is true, then the difficult thing will be to accept the change of belief for each of us.

  13. DanielB says:

Then conversely, Paul wrote to Corinthians, “…You men already have your fill, do you? You are rich already, are you? You have begun ruling as kings without us, have you?…” 1Co4.8

Here, some needed the “rule” as a reminder, “‘Do not go beyond the things that are written,’ in order that you may not be puffed up individually in favor of the one against the other.” v6

So, if the being “raised up” now is not just assurance for the future, there is necessity of keeping a balanced disposition, which I know we realize here.

Also, when we are especially close to Jesus, and at times we experience this, we find him right with us closely, for particular purposes. Then the kingdom feels right here and now.

      (Quote)

    • David Paul says:

      Dear brother Daniel

“Then the kingdom feels right here and now”.

      Amen to that!

Greg Gilbert in his 2010 book “What is the Gospel” defines the Kingdom as: “God’s redemptive rule, reign, and authority over those redeemed by Christ”. (Must have started ruling in this way at Pentecost 30 or 33 AD, not only in 1914!)

For us this was a significant breakthrough in understanding in more depth the relationship between “the gospel ABOUT Jesus Christ” and “the gospel ABOUT the Kingdom” which Acts 8:12 clearly shows to be distinct although related.

How different from the WBT$’s depleted or truncated Kingdom which is largely only FUTURE and PHYSICAL.

Imagine that – truncating both the Kingdom AND the gospel message (about the Christ and about the Kingdom)!

God’s VISIBLE (golden calf or pseudo-mediator) organisation indeed! Which God though?

Affirmative my brother. It happens to me frequently, particularly when in spiritual discussions with other brothers & while doing study/research.

When we are reading (& meditating on) the scriptures, this is when we are most receptive to the “leadings of the HS”. I have found that it also happens while doing outreach….bringing verses back to our mind, etc.

Another point that is very important is our motives, are we doing our study/bible reading, to learn & adjust our thinking, or to prove what we think is the correct view?

Humility is essential, with a willingness to change our view when shown a clearer understanding.

  15. David Paul says:

    Dear brothers, sisters, and friends

Has anyone noticed that the New Covenant scriptures in the NWT correctly render the Greek “ὁ χριστός” (ho Khri·stos′) or “Τὸ Χριστοῦ” (To Christou) as “the Christ” instead of “the anointed” in every single instance?

“The Christ” appears ±157 times (including footnotes, excluding index and appendix).

“The anointed” appears ZERO times in the (New Covenant) text (excluding 2 times in the footnotes).

Simply put, it seems that in the New Covenant (scriptures) there is only ONE “the anointed” and that is Jesus Christ himself. True of course that in the Old Covenant (scriptures) certain humans were referred to as “the anointed”.

True of course that all believers are anointed and/or indwelt by Holy Spirit, and rule in a spiritual sense as victors over Satan and religion, and as soul-winning emissaries of the gospel message, and as soldiers of Christ (aka Kings an Priests).

If though, we as New Covenant believers assert special authority over a supposed laity class (aka the other sheep) as “the anointed” (a surreptitious clergy class), do we in fact make ourselves “false Christs”?

Limited research has been done on this, and it would be great to know your thoughts.

To everyone here, please pay close attention where your sources of information are coming from. If you want to know what Jehovah’s Witnesses teach go to their website. Jw.org or learn from an actual Jehovah’s Witness. I can assure you that no one “bows down” to any man. The Governing body is just a group of loving brothers who through years and years of studying the bible have come to a realization that they are of the 144,000 that are to go to heaven and be a part of Gods Kingdom. They will be as kings governing over the Earth. And I know it sounds awful that nearly 6 Billion people would die… But look back to every event in the bible such as Noah and Lot. Only Noah and his small family survived and EVERYONE else was killed. In the days of Lot, only his small family was saved and the city of Soddom and Gommorah was burnt with fire and sulfer from heaven. And his wife turned back and looked, when she was directed not to. And she lost her life as well. The scripture at Luke 21: 8 was referring to people trying to mislead you… Well this is all as misleading as it can be. This is truly not written by a Jehovah’s Witness, even if the person studied for a while, it takes years and years of studying to learn everything there is to learn, and you can never learn it all. It makes since that if God is real, If Jehovah really exists, that he would have an organization that he runs. Men that would be the spiritual leaders helping to show the way. That is all the governing body is for. To be our spiritual leaders appointed by God. They are not above anyone or do not get worshipped or “bowed down” to. They are simply Jehovah’s helpers, and everything they say, do, print, or acknowledge comes directly from the bible. They do not make up their own doctrine. So don’t e so quick to give up on JWs, especially after coming to sites like this. I have seen hundreds of sights slandering JWs and if you actually knew what JWs teach “fully” then you would see that all of these websites are put here by Satan to mislead you. If there was a religion that was right, don’t you think that Satan would do everything in his power to hide them from you? If you google Jehovahs Witnesses all you see is “hate” websites. Why you shouldn’t be one… What they do wrong… How they are a cult… It is just as 2 Corinthians 4:4 says, “among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through.” If you google any other religion in this world, you will find mostly good things about them. All these other religions are involved in politics, promoting and going to war, and are not following bible guidelines. Let us all be like the scriptures at 1 John 2: 15-17,
“Do not be loving either the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him;16because everything in the world—the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the showy display of one’s means of life—does not originate with the Father, but originates with the world.17Furthermore, the world is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of God remains forever. If you have any questions please email me because I will more than likely never come back to this website, one who wishes to mislead. Scott.chandler.89@live.com

I am an ex-JW myself, but always understood that, according to official Watchtower teaching, the majority of mankind would be resurrected and live forever on earth-not just those who are presently or have been prior to death, a faithful JW.Many christians misunderstand the JW beliefs in regards to salvation, judgement, and last things.Conservative christians who generally believe the final abode for the “saved” is eternity in heaven, assume all agre on this and when they hear the JW’s only believe 144,000 go to heaven after death(or at Christ’s return),they further assume that JW’s believe only that number of people will be “saved”. That is entirely false! The truth is they think billions will be “saved”! However, they believe that they spend eternity on the “new earth” mentioned in Revelation 21,not in heaven. As far as those who die during the great tribulation and/or armageddon,it is my understanding that not all who die at those times are eternally “lost”.
Some faithful witnesses will still be alive then, and many others alive at those times may also still be worthy of a resurrection into the “new earth”(the Watchtower always maintained that such judgements were up to Jehovah and Jesus Christ only, and would not speculate otherwise)-the real test for most comes then.As the Bible says, the devil will be “loosed” for a “short time” and any humans who side with him at that time will suffer the same fate as he-the second death.
So it seems to me much of what is said here is moot, because it is based on an incorrect understanding of JW beliefs and watchtower teachings.I may not agree with them on a great many things either, but I do not like to see anyone’s beliefs being “put down” or criticized due to a lack of proper understanding of those beliefs!

This view is mistaken, sorry to say. It’s not what the GB teach. Go and check the July 15th 2013 WT. Page 7, par 13 reads, “BEFORE the great tribualtion begins, people still have time to change their thinking and start living in a way that puts them on the road leading off into life.” It seems that once the great tribulation starts, your fate is sealed.
