1914 the generation that ran out of timeThe following quotes were published in the May 1, 1997 Watchtower:

“JEHOVAH GOD is the Grand Identifier of his true messengers. He identifies them by making the messages he delivers through them come true. Jehovah is also the Great Exposer of false messengers. How does he expose them? He frustrates their signs and predictions. In this way he shows that they are self-appointed prognosticators, whose messages really spring from their own false reasoning—yes, their foolish, fleshly thinking!”

I was in shock when I first read this and really was at a loss for words.  I will use their words to examine this article.  Have any of the  “signs and predictions” of the Watchtower/JW-Org/GB come true?  Has not the JW organization been frustrated with countless wrong predictions?  With their own words do they not condemn themselves by saying, “In this way he shows that they are self-appointed prognosticators, whose messages really spring from their own false reasoning—yes, their foolish, fleshly thinking!”

I am not going to go into all of the failed prophecies of the Watchtower.  If you are not aware of these you can check those out in this previous article on jwstruggle.com: A Review of the Society’s Prophetic Record

The same article in the May 1, 1997 Watchtower quotes ISAIAH 44:25, 26 as the theme scripture, “I am . . . the One making the word of his servant come true, and the One that carries out completely the counsel of his own messengers.”

It is scriptures like this one in Isaiah that has opened the eyes of those of us who have learned TTATT.  (The Truth About The Truth)

Another quote from this same Watchtower article:

“These deceivers continued in their mad course of predicting things against God’s will. So Jehovah God told Ezekiel: “Woe to the stupid prophets, who are walking after their own spirit, when there is nothing that they have seen!”

Did the Watchtower stop making false predictions after their first failed predictions?  Did they stop after the second or third?  We all know the answer to these questions…  Does that mean they have “continued in their mad course of predicting things against God’s will”?  Are they “stupid prophets”?  You would think a faithful/wise and discreet slave would not do “stupid” things but the record shows otherwise does it not?

Another quote from this same Watchtower article:

“As for Isaiah, all his divine messages about Jerusalem came true. In the summer of 607 B.C.E., the Babylonians destroyed the city and took a Jewish remnant back to Babylon as captives. (2 Chronicles 36:15-21; Ezekiel 22:28; Daniel 9:2) Did these calamities stop the false prophets from bombarding God’s people with vain babblings? No, those lying messengers kept at it!”

The Watchtower proclaimed the fall of Babylon The Great (World Wide False Religion) and the end of this wicked system in 1914.   It didn’t happen, the end did not come and Babylon The Great is still in full force today.  Has that stopped them from their “vain babblings?”   We all know the answer to that…  again, in their own words, “No, those lying messengers kept at it!”

Another quote from this same Watchtower article:

“…all people living then saw God’s ‘bared arm’ exerting power in human affairs in order to bring about the astounding salvation of a nation. They were given unimpeachable proof that Isaiah and Ezekiel were Jehovah’s true messengers. No one could doubt that Zion’s God was the only living and true God in all the earth. At Isaiah 35:2, we read: “There will be those who will see the glory of Jehovah, the splendor of our God.” Those who accepted this proof of Jehovah’s Godship turned to worshiping him.”

Where is the “unimpeachable proof” that Jehovah’s Witnesses are Jehovah’s true messengers?  Is there anything that they predicted that actually came true?  We know they will point to 1914 as a fulfilled prophecy but the truth is nothing they said came true.  Just the opposite.  1914 passed and the leaders were thrown into prison.  They wrongly applied prophecy to that as well.  What do all of the onlookers in the world think about these messengers?  Have they been given this “unimpeachable proof” that they are the true messengers of God?  We all know what they would say if we asked them that question.

Another quote from this same Watchtower article:

“How thankful we should be that Jehovah identifies his true messengers! He is indeed “the One making the word of his servant come true, and the One that carries out completely the counsel of his own messengers.” (Isaiah 44:26) The restoration prophecies he gave Isaiah and Ezekiel magnify his great love, undeserved kindness, and mercy toward his servants. Surely, Jehovah deserves all our praise for this! And we today should be especially thankful that he exposes false messengers. This is because there are many of them now on the world’s scene. Their grandiose messages ignore Jehovah’s announced purposes.”

What can we say to this?  Honestly it boggles my mind.  I truly do feel sorry for those who wrote this and those who believe it.  Could there be a clearer case of blindness?   Jehovah has not carried out “completely” the council of these messengers.  The word “completely” leaves no room for error.  True messengers of Jehovah have their messages come true and are backed by “unimpeachable proof” like Isaiah and Ezekiel could claim.

Please consider Romans 2:17-24,  “If, now, you are a Jew in name and are resting upon law and taking pride in God,  and you know his will and approve of things that are excellent because you are orally instructed out of the Law; and you are persuaded that you are a guide of the blind, a light for those in darkness, a corrector of the unreasonable ones, a teacher of babes, and having the framework of the knowledge and of the truth in the Law— do you, however, the one teaching someone else, not teach yourself? You, the one preaching “Do not steal,” do you steal?  You, the one saying “Do not commit adultery,” do you commit adultery? You, the one expressing abhorrence of the idols, do you rob temples? You, who take pride in law, do you by your transgressing of the Law dishonor God? For “the name of God is being blasphemed on account of YOU people among the nations; just as it is written.”

In an effort to reach my brothers I would like to ask the governing body of Jehovah’s Witnesses these questions, “You who condemn others who made false predictions do you make false predictions?  You who condemn others for false teaching have you taught false teachings?”  It must be pointed out to you that because of not practicing what you preach “the name of God is being blasphemed on account of YOU people among the nations; just as it is written.”

Please consider Matthew 12:37, “…for by your words you will be declared righteous, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Do the words written by the Watchtower about false messengers declare them as “righteous” or “condemned?”  I will leave that call up to God but I don’t want to be standing to close when the Watchower is judged…

It is my hope that all of us here at jwstruggle.com learn from the mistakes that our previous teachers have made. Namely,  the Watchtower organization.  (1 John 2:26-27)  I am only pointing out mistakes the Watchtower has made.  I am not casting judgment on them.  By the words that we speak and write we will be judged.  This web site gets thousands of new visitors each month and no doubt it is our brothers and sisters who are having doubts just like we did.  Everyone here, the writers and all posters need to take to heart the words at Matthew 12:37.  I know I fail at this over and over but I do try to consider how the thousands that read our web site will be affected.   I know the other writers consider this too.  Let us all continue to be mindful of this and not condemn because when we condemn, we condemn ourselves.  (Matthew 7:2)  In the above quoted article and the following articles,  the Watchtower condemns many of things they themselves are guilty of.  It’s the same old story just a different day.  I thank God that I have came to Christ and he has become my personal mediator and I no longer am a slave to man.  (1 Corinthians 7:23)

In the proper time he showed me; simply by me asking heartfelt in prayer Jehovah made the matter very clear.

Bro M-007 , you said , ” guess I for one can not take a lot of credit for being very wise as I loyally followed this organization for over 34 years. So thankful however that Jehovah and Christ in mercy have been so kind as to show me the real truth. ”

I think we were both deceived as very young men . I was 20 when I became a loyal follower . It seems they especially like finding young people to lead along . We thought we were wise in those early years .

And then , eventually , this happened for me too : ” simply by me asking heartfelt in prayer Jehovah made the matter very clear. ”

Wow ! They actually have the balls to call themselves ” Jehovah’s true messengers ” !

  5. John S says:

Well, they claimed to have a crystal ball to see into the future, and this was all-Russell, at first, then when he was found out to be a false-prophet, so they hired a lawyer to put the real spin on the WT, and it’s never changed, just got worse….never wrong, and never apologize, just deny! ignore! condemn the ones wanting answers as Apostates,….”to the fires of Gehenna with you!”

Cute John . But we can’t throw anyone to the fires of Gehenna .

  7. John S says:

No, But WT has judged ‘Apostates’ as committing the unforgivable sin against the Holy Spirit(Them), hence the Witnesses have such a view of men like me. I swear they have in their hearts judged me to Gehenna. My wife told me, because of my belief in Christ( anointing), and partaking, etc., I was going to the Lake of Fire. This kinda put the kibosh on our relationship. As did one elder who gave the Memorial talk, saying in effect , if you partake ‘unworthily’, you would be “DOOMED”. Crazy, unscriptural, as we all should partake, who believe in Christ.

    Greybeard,

This is a great example of the posts we need. We need to be reminded of the facts. False Religion is so powerful that it will suck us back in if we are not supportive of each other. Brother John, and Brother Dan, you are both right. We have to call a spade a spade, but we cannot pass judgment or we will be spades too. It is very hard to point out the facts and not become indignant or judgmental. I really have to work on that. One thing that is very sobering is the fact that the WTBTS’s failure rate is close to 100%! I say close because sometimes people accidentally get something right, and time will tell. They certainly do not have unimpeachable proof of anything unique. A Creator exists and he love us, he provided a ransom for us. We will all benefit if we are faithful. We should love one another and imitate the Christ as best we can. That would not sell magazines though. They are like a spiritual ” Shape Magazine” or ” Muscle Magazine “. Those magazines are not intended to get you in shape, or teach you how to build muscle. What they really are intended for is to keep you reading them indefinitely, giving you just enough info to keep you hooked, but not enough to function without them. If they really taught you what you needed to know, then they would be out of business!! So they serve up the same old routines, just mixed up a bit with a heavy dose of advertising the latest fluff. All you really need is the basic equipment and the desire, and some support of like minded people, and don’t forget hard work. That is the secret, but they are scared to death for you to know that, because if you did, you would never again waste a dime at the gym or on their fluff filled magazines! The WTBTS doesn’t want you to know that all you need is God’s word, the desire to be taught the truth, and support from fellow believers. If enough people learn the truth, then they will be out of business!

Exactly , JoJo . How many times have we heard how the “evil slave” will abuse the faithful and discreet slave . . .

I think of those bad examples out in the parking lots after conventions , or at the parking lot entrances . There is absolutely no benefit for showing vindictive colors , either for remaining witnesses , or anyone else .

Here though , on this site , we can speak out ; and occasionally over-speak , though hopefully not ; over the shameful problems that occur within a supposedly-exclusively favored modern spiritual “nation of God” , that has such deep self-incriminating problems .

They will inevitably be “out of business” , physically and spiritually . I have emotional attachment to so many of them , and I pray for them . But I have to go on looking forward , much as Lot had to do . One day , all of Christ’s friends will need to flee .

That will be one happy day .

But then brothers , there is also the directive that we have to the Colosians , at 4:5,6 : ” Behave wisely toward outsiders, making the best use of your time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone. ”

Protests ought to be appealing , and not so vindictive . We ought to GAIN , rather than REPEL . 1 Co 9:19,20 : ” Although I am free from everyone’s expectations, I have made myself a servant to all of them to win more people. To the Jews [or the JWs] I BECAME LIKE a Jew [or a JW] in order to win Jews[or JWs]. To those under the Law I became like a man under the Law, in order to win those under the Law (although I myself am not under the Law). ”

True Brother Dan. I would be happy for those still in the WTBTS to be free, but I really don’t want anything bad to happen to anyone, including any in leadership positions. I just wish they would repent. We can’t be silent about hypocrisy, but we can’t view ourselves as above any one else either, we can’t call down fire upon them like the Sons of Thunder! I am sure those two mellowed in time.

Just thinking it out.

  19. spike says:

Bother Dan, it seems that I am not understanding. I was not speaking of protesting at conventions. I just meant protesting in general, just calling attention to wrongdoing. I do believe people have a right to ” peaceful ” assembly, whoever they are. I am not the type to start a rally with signs and marching or yelling.

  20. John S says:

Well, there are sins, and shortcomings, and their are sins of omission, and deliberate acts of malicious terror, and top it off with hypocrisy, and the Pharisees did them all. Christ called evil down on them, as they were destroying the faith , lives, and future of people who they were leading….making hypocrites and subjects of Gehenna of those who became wicked like them. “Serpents, offspring of vipers, how are you to flee from the judgement of Gehenna?” (Matt.23:33)

Isaiah 54:1-8 These days are just like the days of Noah.

Isaiah 60:1-22 This woman is commanded to arise and shed forth light, she is to be the vessel Jehovah will speak through and judgement or correction will come from YHWH through that woman. Who is that woman, how can she be recognised and how can she shine forth in the darkened world.

June: barren woman that did not give birth and who has YHWH as her husbandly owner

      Dear June;
There is a principle of “first use” in Scripture which seems to hold true that is; the first use of something deffines it.
In the case of “Woman” it is “Helper”.
So in Scripture where human female seems odd, think Helper.
The Angels who helped God in Creation, did not see fruitage of their works, yet.
Bride of Christ, a group that helps Christ.

        (Quote)

      • Pearl Doxsey says:

        “Woman” is COVENANT (Gal.4:24)
Covenants do “help” God to bring forth promised seed,
        hence, an appropriate symbol.
        Gen.3:15; Rev.12:1,2; Gal.4:26
A covenant without seed is barren.
Yet with God as her husbandly owner, she will bear seed.
        Isa.54:1; Gal.4:27…
which is speaking of Gal.4:26. Her child is the one at Rev.12:5, and are the same victorious conquerers as mentioned at Rev.2:26,27.
The barren woman corresponds to “Sarah”. She is “Jerusalem above” according to the context of Gal.4; she is the New Covenant, according to the same context.

No quiero ofender a nadie. A trabajar señores, a predicar.
