What would you say is worse? Calling someone a “despicable fool” or calling them “mentally diseased”? Personally I see no difference.
Jesus said at Matthew 5:22, “However, I say to YOU that everyone who continues wrathful with his brother will be accountable to the court of justice; but whoever addresses his brother with an unspeakable word of contempt will be accountable to the Supreme Court; whereas whoever says, ‘You despicable fool!’ will be liable to the fiery Ge·hen´na.”
In the Watchtower July 15, 2011 article “Will You Heed Jehovah’s Clear Warnings?” (You can get a PDF HERE) We find the governing body of Jehovah’s Witnesses name calling again those who they label as “apostates.” They specifically call apostates “mentally diseased” and refer to “false teachers” as “dried up wells” and “ravenous wolves.”
According to Jesus words at Matthew 5:22 wouldn’t the governing body of JW’s be “liable to the fiery Ge·hen´na?”
They may say, “but Jesus called the pharisees “offspring of vipers…” and no wonder they feel that way because they think they are equal to Christ and try to play the part as our savior. That is why they feel above the counsel from Christ at Matthew 5:22. However, we know they are far from being equal to Christ no matter what they say.
One might think Christ was violating his own words by speaking to the pharisees the way he did but was he? Jesus Christ could read hearts. He was a perfect judge. We are not. No man can read hearts. That is why we are told not to judge and to love our enemies. Does the GB love their enemies? We all know the answer to that. Jesus can condemn but he never did, not even those who put him to death. He had a right to place labels on men, we don’t.
The governing body will be “liable to the fiery Ge·hen´na” or Jesus is a lier. I for one hope they wake up and change then set our families free. They hold them captive is prison. Don’t think for one moment our King Christ Jesus doesn’t see what they have done. Their lamp oil has ran out and they are in the dark but when Christ returns we all will rejoice as they weep.
Your brother in Christ,
