I myself have concluded that the GB falls into that category. The false prophets that Jesus warned us about. I am not sure about all the JW followers of witch many of my family are (wife/kids/father/brother). Are the followers of the GB/JW-org false prophets as well or are they missguided lost sheep. Some may believe there are two periods of 3 1/2 years making up the Great Tribulation. Many see in Rev 11 that the two prophets prophesy for 1260 days and then the beast wars with them for another period of 42 months and so the period is 7 yrs. My opinion on the matter is that this time period is the same. As the 2 prophets are prophesying the beast is waging war on them. We must understand that the book of Daniel similarly talks of this period of time and it mentions only one period of 3 1/2 years. This time period is still in the future. How far in the future is anyone’s guess. Jesus let us know we will be unable to calculate the day and hour of his return. andrew(Quote) Reply

My second question is, are Jehovah’s Witness’s apart of Babylon the Great? As we know Gods people are told to “get out of her”. I personally believe that they are. I believe Babylon the Great is any organization or group that is in opposition to Jehovah Gods will. The JW’s, by replacing Christ Jesus as our mediator and head of the congregation, are in direct conflict with Gods will. They focus on directing people to the organization instead of Christ Jesus. It is true they do not celebrate holidays or practice customs the feel originated in Babylon. However is this not like “Straining out the nat and gulping down the camel? If the try to unify everyone and control everyone in a dictatorial way what makes them any different from any other leader on Earth including Nimrod himself? That is MHO. Other churches have different strengths and different weaknesses. The JWs along with all christian denominations are part of the net that is cast in the world that Jesus mentions in Matt. 13:47-49. There are good “fish” that the JWs have caught and there are worthless ones. Babylon the Great is the sum of all the fish caught, also the totality of the planted field of Jesus illustration also in Matt. 13. The fact that a voice must call out God’s people from Babylon the Great lets us know that at this time the vast majority of true christians are within Babylon the Great and will need to be called out. That call-out is still a future event. So at this time it is not required that a christian leave a certain denomination. He need only walk in Jesus’ footsteps. andrew(Quote) Reply

Compare following texts and see what conclusion you come to: Matt. 12:36,37 ; Rom 2:5-8 ; 2 Cor. 5:10 ; Heb 9:27 Judgement is one of the main themes of the bible and a foundational teaching (Hebrews 6:2). Others would say that the “foundation of the world” refers to the first ones born, which would be Cain and Abel. This way one can say after Adam sinned but before any children were born to him, God chose Jesus to be man’s Redeemer. Which theory is correct? Hyperbole, an exaggeration to prove a point, is often used in the Greek Scriptures. If it was preordained that puts the Creator in the position of planning it or making it all happen the way it did and a God of love and justice wouldn’t do that IMO. 9. Dennis says: January 30, 2011 at 1:02 pm (Edit) Maybe you brothers and sisters can share your view regarding the translation of “kurios” in Jude 1:5. Most bibles translate this as Jesus or Lord. The NWT uses Jehovah. They site 4-5 16th to 19th century and a couple of 20th century translations as precedence. I think it is probably best translated Jesus or Lord (meaning Jesus) and pictures his pre-human work alongside his father in the affairs of ancient Israel. I view the NWT in this instance, as biased in support of their non-trinitarian stance (which of course I agree with) and as an example of their going to far in trying to get the divine name in the New Testament (I personally think NT use of the divine name should be limited to OT quotes where the name appears). Perhaps it will literally occupy the old promised land, the latter chapters of Ezekiel may seem to hint at this. I really don’t know a lot about the bible students other than what has been written by some on this site. Just know that they, along with everybody else, do not have the full truth. It might help your spiritual progress to be associated with them, then again it may not. You will have to decide. Please remember serein that understanding biblical prophesy is not essential to gain God’s approval. If we can simply do the things that Jesus mentioned on the Sermon on the Mount we will be doing very well. andrew(Quote) Reply

I’ve invited him for lunch and I am trying to figure out how to brooch the situation. There is obviously much I’d like to know and ask him. Could I just say “did you do the fade?” and see what he says? It seems like a tricky meeting but I’ve got to try. Any advice? Many who are inactive believe whole heartedly in the organization they may have simply become discouraged or depressed. You probably want to discreetly get him to open up before you admit to anything yourself. If he is trying to fade though he may be hesitant to talk about why if he thinks you are still a devoted follower of the organization. It is tricky tightrope you’ll have to walk. Genesis 1:24 (New King James Version) reads Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so. >>>>>>>>> Even Adam & Eve. I assume they were dark ,being created in the mid-east, yet Adam held the all the Human races in his loins. . Every tribe, nation and tongue can be traced back to our first parents. The same with the animals. Take a cat or a dog and trace its ancestry , they alone are many, many , different breeds We wouldn’t end up with a cat or a dog to begin with. So that would eliminate a lot of non existing off spring at that time. I really don’t know which BIG cat or wolf they came from, but please do share. Was it a wolf ? Anyone ! Then the measurements of the ark and it having three stories , shows the ark was huge / All the blue print for that Ark is found in Gen 6 th chapter. I’m not the best in math, so maybe someone can help out here. Have we ever seen a accurate blue print of the ark before it was made other then recorded in the Bible ? The important thing as Paul would put it We are walking by Faith , not by sight. Not everyone can do this. A violent earthquake occurred; the sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair; the entire moon became like blood” corresponds to Matt. 24:29 – “Immediately after the tribulation of those days: The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not shed its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the celestial powers will be shaken.” My current thinking is that Rev. 6:1 refers to Christ’s enthronement shortly after ascending to heaven. The horsemen would represent what we have seen since then, wars, famines, etc. which would continue until Jesus’ return in vs. 12. There used to be consideration over 7 equal-in-length creative days, and 6000 years since Adam was created would come out to our recent past. Then it dawned on Fred Franz that Eve was the last creation of the 6th creative day, and not Adam. It seems the subject was pretty-well dropped around that time. So there was no more aparent speculation on how long it was from Adam’s creation until Eve’s, except that Gen. 3:23 in the NWT says Adam then said “at last, bone of my bone…”. So it must have been “some time”, until the end of the 6th day. But there was a valid point, about the appearance of things around us. For example, you discuss here conditions within an organization which point to the “man of lawlessness”. I was in LA that night for a “special” one night assembly (circa 1981) when Franz arrived at the fact that it was Eve who was the last recorded creation of the 6th day. I see we have some sharp minds here on this site, no flattery intended. Seems as though the fall of Babylon date is important, right? Why not compare the accuracy of what is now known concerning where we are in the timestream of the history of humanity? With the Bible’s emphasis on the number 7, it seems like a worthy question. So in the meantime, Jesus (not “maybe”) surely would like us to concentrate on the fruits of the spirit and loving our fellow and encouraging one another. Hebrews 10:25, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11. Many still believe that Jesus does not even know yet. I dont believe that. Since He is the major player, Im sure He knows now. What are any your thoughts? It’s exciting, and faith strengthening brothers. We find them in Acts 2, the Pauline letters, through John and God’s Prophets of old. Pronouncing the Name of God Nothing in the Torah prohibits a person from pronouncing the Name of God. Indeed, it is evident from scripture that God’s Name was pronounced routinely. Many common Hebrew names contain “Yah” or “Yahu,” part of God’s four-letter Name. The Name was pronounced as part of daily services in the Temple. The Mishnah confirms that there was no prohibition against pronouncing The Name in ancient times. In fact, the Mishnah recommends using God’s Name as a routine greeting to a fellow Jew. Berakhot 9:5. However, by the time of the Talmud, it was the custom to use substitute Names for God. Some rabbis asserted that a person who pronounces YHVH according to its letters (instead of using a substitute) has no place in the World to Come, and should be put to death. Instead of pronouncing the four-letter Name, we usually substitute the Name “Adonai,” or simply say “Ha-Shem” (lit. The Name). Although the prohibition on pronunciation applies only to the four-letter Name, Jews customarily do not pronounce any of God’s many Names except in prayer or study. The usual practice is to substitute letters or syllables, so that Adonai becomes Adoshem or Ha-Shem, Elohaynu and Elohim become Elokaynu and Elokim, etc. With the Temple destroyed and the prohibition on pronouncing The Name outside of the Temple, pronunciation of the Name fell into disuse. Scholars passed down knowledge of the correct pronunciation of YHVH for many generations, but eventually the correct pronunciation was lost, and we no longer know it with any certainty. I have just turned to Daniel 12, please read the entire chapter AND then meditate on V’s 4, 8-13. I have just made a startling discovery (that may be nothing). Without my giving anything away, lets see if someone else sees what I have just seen….it is with regard to the length of time & when it began. It could be that it has 2 fulfillments, one with the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 C.E. and one during the Great Tribulation against the saints. Vs. 7 mentions again the 3 1/2 times of oppression for the saints. Vs. 11 and 12 mention 1290 days and 1335 days which would be 30 days and 75 days longer than the 3 1/2 yrs of oppression. Amos says: April 10, 2011 at 5:46 am (Edit) Hi Andrew, It’s a very lengthy discussion of the subject, so I’ll paraphrase it somewhat, & mind you these are just mussings on my part….not setting dates or anything else. 1) Jerusalem was originally occupied by Babylon, in the year 606 BC. This is when Daniel & his companions, & the other royalty & nobles were taken captive. (I know this is contradictory to what the WTS teaches, but is very easily proven by both chronology & secular history). Jerusalem was not actually destroyed until 587/586 BC. 2) If we count 1290 years (a day for a year) from 606 BC, this brings us to 685 AD, allowing for the correction between BC/AD. What happened at this time? (685 AD) The establishment of the Islamic Dome of the rock, in the Temple (courtyard of the Gentiles). Daniel 12:11; “And from the time that the regular burnt offering is taken away and the abomination that makes desolate is set up, there shall be 1,290 days.” 3) 1335 years from 685 AD will end….2020. There are many views concerning these verses, some even look to the time when the Maccabees broke the grip of Antiochus, & freed Jerusalem. Some food for thought. Amos(Quote) Reply
34. Amos says: April 10, 2011 at 6:05 am (Edit) I need to correct the dates as given. 2) 606 BC + 1290 years, comes to 683 AD. The Dome was built in 688 AD. 3) 683 + 1335 = 2018 AD.
