Jehovah’s Witnesses teach that salvation will only be for those who are Jehovah’s Witnesses:

Only Jehovah’s Witnesses, those of the anointed remnant and the “great crowd,” as a united organization under the protection of the Supreme Organizer, have any Scriptural hope of surviving the impending end of this doomed system dominated by Satan the Devil.” Watchtower 1989

Sep. 1 p.19 Similarly, Jehovah is using only one organization today to accomplish his will. To receive everlasting life in the earthly Paradise we must identify that organization and serve God as part of it.” Watchtower 1983 Feb. 15 p.12

To me this is the most arrogant stand any religion can take. It is sad but many religions take a stand such as this. Catholics, Mormans etc…

What the Watchtower states contradicts what Jesus said here at John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

In most Bibles Romans 10:13 says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” The New World Translation says,  For “everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.”

Is it the name Jesus or the Name Jehovah we are to call upon in order to be saved? Many believe that the name Jehovah was added here in the NWT.

Regarding the name Jesus Acts 4:12 tells us, “Furthermore, there is no salvation in anyone else, for there is not another name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved.”

Act 4:10-12 makes it clear that Jesus is the name by which we must get saved.

Is that what Jehovah’s Witnesses teach?

According to 1 Cor. 15: 22 All will be made alive “in Christ” it says, “For just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive.”  Some believe the word “all” here speaks for all of mankind. I would like to believe that to be true!

Does it make sense to you that Billions of people will die and only 6 million Jehovah’s Witnesses will make it?

Not to me it doesn’t… but what do I know…

With Christian love,

15 Comments on Salvation only for Jehovah’s Witnesses?

  1. Andrew says:

Not only is it taught that all of earth’s billions will die except for the JWs, but that they will go directly to the second death.

This teaching was one of the first that I started to doubt. All I had to do was reason a little. I, as an imperfect person, would not condemn a child growing up on the streets of some small town in India, Saudi Arabia, or China, only because he didn’t become a JW, Jehovah certainly wouldn’t.
What chance did he have of reading the bible? Never mind the tiny chance of speaking with a JW and then recognizing it as the truth. The chance of that happening is nearly nil, and to condemn someone to death without chance of a resurrection for that is cruel and doesn’t coincide with what I know about God.
I believe this teaching is a God-dishonoring falsehood.

    Good post GB. I agree wholeheartedly! Regarding the quote;

“According to 1 Cor. 15: 22 All will be made alive “in Christ” it says, “For just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive.” Some believe the word “all” here speaks for all of mankind. I would like to believe that to be true!”

In my opinion , it won’t be All as in universalism but absolutely the majority. Certainly, in the Kingdom all mankind will have a fair chance (their first real chance) to learn of Christ, the kingdom and the goodness of Jehovah unencumbered of Satan’s influence and sinful man’s (to whom no salvation belongs) incorrect theological interpretations. I can’t help but think that most of mankind will gladly be led up the highway of holiness by the life changing work of Jesus and his anointed during the kingdom. I have always thought, how does the destruction of the majority of mankind support Jehovah’s sovereignty? I think it supports just the opposite. It indicates that Satan darn near prevailed in the issue but for a small remnant. I think the goodness of the creator is such that the majority of mankind will reject Satan and gladly praise Jah. Now that will definitely support Jehovah’s sovereignty!

Thank you Big D! If everyone doesn’t get a fair chance then it just wouldn’t seam right would it? It wouldn’t be right. Thus the resurrection. I hope most of those killed in the flood will be resurrected. We will see…

Interesting points brothers. May I ask how Matthew 7:13,14 fits into this belief, since Jesus here spoke of a broad road with many on it that leads to destruction?

      Hi JJ,
We shouldn’t assume that Matt. 7:13,14 is talking about Armageddon. The narrow gate seems to be talking about entering into Jesus’ sheepfold (John 10) or in other words becoming part of the christian cong. and not talking about the eternal salvation of humanity.

Destruction is often associated with Sheol or the grave. (Prov. 15:11 27:20) Those who enter the narrow gate into Jesus’ sheepfold pass from death to life. (John 5:24)

The way to destruction or death is wide because it accomadates all kinds of beliefs and one can do as he likes. The gate to become one of Christ’s disciples is cramped, but when one does so it leads to life.

Earth’s throngs that traveled on the road to destruction (sheol hades) will have a chance to escape death at the end of the 1000 yrs. (Rev 20:13-15)

While it is true that all of us when we die go to Hades or Sheol, those of us who choose the narrow gate find real life during our lifetimes. (1 Tim. 6:19) While those on the broad road wasted that opportunity and will have to wait until the end of the 1000 yrs to possibly escape death.

In short, this scripture is talking about the heavenly call, the narrow way (many are called, few are chosen). All of mankind is heading off into destruction (death) and will have the blessing of the resurrection. This is not speaking of second death from which there is no return. No where is there any indication that this is applying to an earthly class of believers that will survive Armageddon (recall that in the kingdom all will receive a resurrection so this wouldn’t apply to them). The new testament was written primarily to the elect (when we’re reading it, we’re essentially reading someone else’s mail). Funny how some groups use this to support the exclusivity of there “club”. Jehovah has something incredible in store for mankind, something beyond our wildest imaginations!

Using that reasoning JJ one also could ask, “How can there be a great crowd that no man can number out of every nation in light of the narrow road.” I agree with Dennis, the Christian call is a heavenly call.

There really is no place for this to go so I’ll post it here (don’t know how to start another topic). I am trying to start a bible reading group with the goal of reading through the bible chronologically (thought that would be interesting) in 1 year. It is a great program called Bible.is that is accessed through a private Facebook group (Berean Bible Students) I have set up. Each day we can listen to and read along with the daily reading assignment. After that we can leave comments to each other regarding the reading. By using the community approach it might well increase the chances of getting through the entire bible. If anyone is interested just send me your Facebook info and I’ll send you an invitation. I have already sent an invite to Greybeard. The first reading is today. Give it a try, I think you’ll like it.

compare 7 million with 7 billion.

Even my KJV at Ephesians 4:5 says,”One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism”.

Yes all those not obeying the good news receive the judgment of everlasting fire. Or the 2nd death. 2 Thess. 1:8,9.

I challange you to tell me where Jesus ever said he was God The Almighty??
